Children Believe breaks barriers to education so children can dream and live fearlessly.
Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in —and be heard. For over 60 years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education —inside and outside of classrooms—is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.
Children Believe supports children and communities in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Nicaragua and Paraguay. Currently, Children Believe has over 50,000 children sponsored, benefiting more than 800,000 people around the world.

How we're making a difference:
1. Supporting thriving communities
We help children access the basics—healthcare, clean water and education —so they can succeed in school and life. We help build, renovate or equip schools, classrooms, libraries, health centres and water sources; provide teacher and health-worker training; and support small business and skills development. We also help communities better prepare for disasters, so families can respond, recover and rebuild when disaster strikes.
2. Advance child rights and protection
We help children know their rights and how to effect change so they can be better protected in and out of school. We create safe and inclusive spaces for children to grow and learn; teach children about their rights; and help them play an active role in improving child-protection systems. We also help young people partner with those in positions of power to ensure those charged with protecting their rights are held accountable.
3. Promote equality for girls
We help girls and boys enjoy equal opportunities to learn, lead and pursue their dreams. We support training and awareness campaigns on gender equality; promote the benefits of education for girls; and boost girls’ knowledge and confidence through girls’ clubs and youth groups. We also boost income-generating activities for women’s economic empowerment and engage boys and men as champions for change.
4. Partner with children for change
We help young people get involved in decision-making so they can become active, engaged young citizens. We support clubs, youth groups and children’s networks to ensure young people have safe spaces to learn about their rights, discuss important issues and develop leadership skills. We also help young people share their ideas, insights and experiences with government and community leaders to make a case for change.
