As many of you who are closest to me know, I was a child victim of crime. Going through the judicial process was incredibly difficult as well. The judicial system is broken and child victims have incredibly difficult choices to make and tasks to complete as they walk the judicial tightrope. I and some of the people that I love most in the world, navigated this journey without the support of an advocate to walk the journey with us. Needless to say, the judicial journey added trauma to our lives.
My goal is to raise $1,000 on my team page and challenge others to raise money that will have an impact on so many generations to come. The $50,000 raised will serve 50 children with an advocate or caseworker as they navigate this difficult journey. Right now, there are 145 children on our waitlist. One is too many.
