Telecare Crisis and Caring Line
Telecare began in the 1950s in Sydney Australia under the direction of Reverend Alan Walker and the Central Methodist Mission. Within a few years, other centers opened in various places around the world including the first center in Canada in 1965 in Sudbury Ontario.
Locally, Central Fraser Valley Telecare was open for calls in July 1989. Over the years thousands of calls have been received from people needing someone who cared enough to listen to them.
Now known as the Telecare Crisis & Caring Line, our service is available province-wide through our toll-free number.
