Who We Are

Caregivers Alberta was founded in 2001 by a grassroots group of caregivers dedicated to recognizing the essential work of unpaid, family and friend caregivers.

As Alberta’s only province-wide caregiver organization, we connect and empower the nearly one million caregivers in this province through education, advocacy, and timely resources to create a more sustainable future for caregivers and those for whom they care.

How We Help 

As Alberta's only dedicated caregiver organization, we improve the lives of Alberta's caregivers across the province by: 

- Providing group and one-on-one support that helps caregivers connect with one other, navigate the system, and look after themselves while providing care. Our programs include: COMPASS for the Caregiver, Caregiver Coaches, caregiver workshops and education sessions throughout the year. 

- Increasing communities' capacities to support caregivers by educating professionals, promoting networking and referrals, and sharing programs.

- Advocating for policy changes that will make a real difference in caregivers' lives.
