In January of this year, I lost a good friend. Dani was an enthusiastic outdoors person with a passion for hiking. She was never one to back away from a challenge. Even in the face of a terminal cancer diagnosis she was determined to fight as hard as she could and ultimately to complete her journey on her own terms.
On September 7th I will be honoring her by undertaking a challenge to hike 65 kms of the Mantario trail in under 18 hours.
This hike is a fundraising initiative for CanU Canada and the CanU Lead Award scholarship fund. The fund awards scholarships to “CanU participants that have shown potential for leadership in our community: reducing the barrier of finance as an obstacle to their future."
