Weekly art classes are a highly popular activity for individuals experiencing a mental health challenge, allowing creative expression, skill building, and the opportunity to connect with peers. Many participants have shared how art has become an important part of their healing journey.
At CMHA Kelowna, we create opportunities for individuals to nurture their wellness. The Wellness Development Centre (WDC) is a place where individuals dealing with mental health issues can connect with others, engage in wellness-based activities, learn and improve mental wellness, and contribute to a vibrant community. Many different activities are offered at the WDC to foster recovery, grow community, and build wellness-based skills. The focus is on social connection and belonging, fun and well-being.
This gift supports our Wellness Development Centre Programming, allowing us to offer weekly art classes to participants free of charge. Funds are needed to ensure a steady supply of art supplies for unique projects!
