PIVOT is a powerful stepping stone for emerging composers and sound artists to realise their dream of building a successful and sustainable career. You can contribute to that dream!

One of the most prestigious mentorship programs in Canada, PIVOT pairs emerging composers with renowned Canadian composers of their choice to receive mentorship and guidance for the creation of a new composition. These new works are then workshopped, rehearsed, publically premiered, and recorded by professional musicians who specialise in new music performance. Participants are also provided with professional development sessions to better equip them for the realities of building a career in the arts. Perhaps most importantly: not only is the program free, but participants are paid for their work.

Many past-participants in PIVOT have gone on to build incredibly successful compositional careers, including Juno-nominees Amy Brandon, Iman Habibi, James O’Callaghan, Saman Shahi, and Bekah Simms.
