OPEN DOORS AT AL RASHID MOSQUE

For people experiencing homelessness, winter is a brutal challenge. The cold weather makes life on the street even more dangerous than usual; with focus on COVID-19 restrictions this year can create a sense of even greater isolation. We have activated our overnight space to accommodate community members experiencing homelessness. As part of the Winter Emergency Response with the City of Edmonton and Homeward Trust, Edmonton Transit (bus) has scheduled Al Rashid on route and is able to transfer individuals to our Centre all night until February 13, 2021. Our Campaign will help pay for disposable blankets and pillows, cleaning supplies, bus tickets, hardy snacks and security at night so we can monitor visitors, staff and volunteers coming to the building and keep everyone safe.

Call 211 when you see someone in danger. The colder it gets, the more dangerous it is for people to live unsheltered.
