Overview

Membership in CFUW-N is open to all women who value lifelong learning.  We provide a safe, supportive and welcoming environment. Members meet regularly to hear speakers on a wide range of subjects such as health, the arts, current events, environment, local history, women’s issues and education.  Many also participate in various interest groups.  Annually, the club raises funds to support women across Northumberland County who are pursuing post-secondary education / training.

Details

The Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) is a non-partisan, voluntary, self-funded organization with over 100 CFUW Clubs located in every province across Canada. Since its founding in 1919, CFUW has been working to improve the status of women and to promote human rights, public education, social justice and peace.

The Northumberland Club, CFUW-N, was founded in 1991. We seek to provide lifelong learning and promote education and advocacy for gender equality and the rights of women and girls. We are particularly active in supporting women who are pursuing further education/training.

We raise funds annually for bursaries and scholarships for women across Northumberland County in a range of programs for further education including apprenticeships.

Through our regular meetings and interest groups, CFUW-N members have the opportunity to make friends and enjoy the benefits of learning, socializing, supporting one another and working together for positive change in our communities.

Please note that confirmation of your payment will be sent directly from CanadaHelps. If you are making a donation to our Scholarship Fund, you will get an official receipt for income tax purposes right away, directly from CanadaHelps on our behalf.
