Join us for CFUW-Northumberland's Spring Film Fundraiser for scholarships for local students. 

There will be a special screening of ”Suze”, a Canadian comedy-drama, at Rainbow Cinema Cobourg, 1111 Elgin St W, Cobourg, ON K9A 5H7 on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 2 pm.

Doors open at 1:30 p.m.  Show starts at 2:00!

All proceeds will go to scholarships and apprenticeships for young women in Northumberland County.

Many thanks to our sponsor: Julie Parker, Royal Service Real Estate Inc.  Julie is covering the costs of the film and the venue.  As a result, all proceeds go to CFUW-Northumberland scholarships.

p.p.s. Arthur's Pub, Best Western Plus, Cobourg, will donate 10% of all meals (before tax and gratuity) sold to viewers of Suze, back to CFUW-N towards scholarships. They ask that guests identify themselves to their server, showing their Suze movie ticket, when visiting the Pub any time on March 24 (breakfast, lunch or dinner).

CFUW-Northumberland is delighted to announce we are having a Spring Film Fundraiser, on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 2 p.m.

There will be a special screening of “Suze” (2024).

Suze is a Canadian comedy-drama, written and directed by Dane Clark and Linsey Stewart.

Suze, has a bad case of empty nest syndrome after her daughter Brooke moves away to attend university. Suze gets stuck being a mother figure to Brooke’s ex-boyfriend Gage even though she never liked him at all when he and Brooke were dating.

The event will take place at the Rainbow Cinema Cobourg at 2 p.m. on Monday March 24, 2025.

Tickets are $25 per person.

All proceeds go to CFUW-Northumberland Scholarships.

Charitable tax receipts will be issued with ticket purchase.

In 2024, CFUW-Northumberland awarded over $14,000 in scholarships and bursaries to female Northumberland County students from the six Northumberland County high schools, Trent University, Fleming College and the First People’s House of Learning at Trent University.

In addition to the six annual college/university entrance scholarships, six scholarships were awarded to female students entering apprenticeship programs.

About This Charity

The Canadian Federation of University Women - Northumberland (CFUW-N), founded in 1991, promotes education and advocacy for women and girls. Membership is open to all women who value lifelong learning. CFUW-N works with the six Northumberland County high schools, Fleming College, Trent University and the First People’s House of Learning at Trent University, to identify women who will benefit from financial support as they pursue their education. Over $14,000 in scholarships and bursaries were awarded in 2023-2024 year. CFUW-N is committed to matching those awards in 2024-2025.
