About the Canadian Cancer Society

The Canadian Cancer Society works tirelessly to save and improve lives. We raise funds to fuel the brightest minds in cancer research. We provide a compassionate support system for all those affected by cancer, across Canada and for all types of cancer. Together with patients, supporters, donors and volunteers, we work to create a healthier future for everyone. Because to take on cancer, it takes all of us. It takes a society.

Your support matters

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, a month to join together to transform the future of prostate cancer for the 27,900 men in Canada expected to be diagnosed this year. Prostate cancer is one of the least preventable cancers, making advancements in prostate cancer treatment so important.

With nearly half of Canadians diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, the need for your support has never been greater.

Donate today to help fund groundbreaking cancer research into more than 100 types of cancer, offer a nationwide support system so no one faces cancer alone, and shape healthy public policy to make life better for all Canadians affected by cancer.

What we do

At CCS, our mission is to unite and inspire Canadians to take control of cancer.

As the largest national charitable funder of cancer research, we fund high performance research that improves cancer outcomes and addresses the greatest opportunities for progress. We lead change in the most pressing areas of cancer policy including prevention, access, affordability and support. And we provide trusted information on more than 100 cancer types for all Canadians, promote cancer prevention and provide compassionate support to help people with cancer, their families and caregivers cope.
