Shelf Isolation Read-a-thon

With Library locations, schools and daycares temporarily closed due to COVID-19 measures, the Calgary Public Library is still there for you, and its online services are more important than ever. 

As we are all being encouraged to self-isolate, we asked ourselves: how could we combine our favourite things - reading, community and supporting the Library?

How about a Shelf Isolation Read-a-thon?!

We don't know how long these measures will last. But we do know that curling up with a great book (or a great eBook) brings the world into our living rooms and helps us feel less alone.

Will you join our community of readers? Fundraising is optional. The more the merrier!

It's easy:

1. Set up a fundraising page with your details. Click ‘Create a Fundraiser’ above.
2. Set yourself a reading goal (For example, "I promise to read 1 book for every week that I am away from school/work" or "We promise to read for 30-minutes before bedtime each night")
3. Share your page with your friends and family! Encourage them to set their own reading goals and, if they are able, support you with a donation to the Library Foundation. Be sure to tag us @libraryfdnyyc

Your generosity will help the Library to continue to support Calgarians remotely in these challenging times and in the future.
