In 1975, a group of parents passionate about bringing French Immersion education to Burnaby incorporated a society under the name Burnaby French Language Playschool. The aim of the society was and still is to provide children of all abilities with stimulating experiences and to introduce them to the French Language.

Today, Burnaby French Language Preschool recognizes the value of play in fostering a young child’s development and the benefits of learning through play. Our overall objective is to provide a safe, happy and stimulating social environment where young children can experience the joys of a creative childhood while developing their self-confidence and increasing their familiarity with the French language.

As a registered non-profit charity, we rely on parent and caregiver volunteers to administer all operations of the preschool.  This allows the Teachers to focus on the children and program curriculum.  While tuition alone does not always cover the school's operating expenses, government grants and donations play a key role to keep tuition costs low and accessible for families of all financial levels. In being able to provide inclusive educational programs, BFLP prouds itself to be able to provide equal opportunity and access to families wanting to enroll their children to a meaningful French Immersion experience.
