Our Mission
To provide education and support for people with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), their family members and friends; to increase awareness to the community at large throughout BC; and to promote research about BPD.
Our Vision
To help all persons with BPD to live a satisfying and fulfilling life.
The BPD Society of BC was founded in 2012 in an effort to fill the gaps in service for folks living with BPD and their loved ones. We provide hope, validation, and shared experience through our weekly peer-led support group. We recently piloted a 24-week Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills group and aim to provide this evidence-based treatment twice a year. Additionally, we offer system navigation, education, and resources to the community at large and a speaker’s bureau for medical professionals, schools, and non-profits, wanting to learn more about what BPD and how best to support someone living with BPD.
The Society’s goal is to create awareness of the stigma that exists around BPD, educate the public on evidence-based and up to date information on BPD and its treatments, and support the BPD community to build a life worth living through peer support, validation, community engagement, and access to appropriate services. Our current initiative is to sustain our DBT program for adults and add a group for adolescents living with Borderline Personality Disorder.
