Black Youth Helpline

about

OUR VISION

Productive futures for Canada’s children and youth.

ABOUT US

The Black Youth Helpline (BYH) is a not-for-profit, registered charitable organization governed by a Board of Directors. The organization serves ALL youth and specifically responds to the need for a Black youth specific service, resourced to promote access to professional, culturally appropriate supports for youth, families, schools. With support from individual Canadians and businesses, our services are now coast to coast across Canada.

Donations to BYH support two key approaches: 1) Direct support of Canada’s most vulnerable youth, parents and schools and 2) Amplification of our three (3) strategic systems change initiatives: Education; Mental Illness/Health & Women’s Development especially in vulnerable neighbourhoods. The organization’s Stay-in-School initiatives and other support services focus on helping youth remain and succeed in schools and in community life.

Intervening early to help address challenges faced by youth and helping vulnerable children remain and succeed in school, results in the best chance for youth to experience successful futures. This is the relentless focus of the Black Youth Helpline.

OUR ULTIMATE GOAL

Has been and remains to be active participants in building a Canada where the work of our organization can be considered successfully accomplished! We thank individual Canadians and businesses who have joined us on that journey.
