About Beagle Paws

Beagle Paws is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2003 by Sheila Lewis to rescue mistreated and abandoned Beagles. Since then, we have become Canada’s largest Beagle rescue, re-homing thousands of Beagles right across the country with the help of volunteer chapters and supporters coast to coast.

With Sheila’s continued leadership, our focus remains on advocating to bring the Beagle indoors and to be considered pets, too!

Beagles are the most neglected dog breed in Newfoundland and Labrador, and the number one breed surrendered to local animal shelters. On average, Beagle Paws has 50 Beagles in its care at any given time. This continued demand to provide shelter to one specific breed resulted in a need for a larger, more suitable facility for Beagle Paws.

Building A Better Future.

In 2013, Beagle Paws launched a capital campaign under the name "Building for Beagles" with the goal to purchase a larger and more suitable building.  With a big BOW WOW!, we are thrilled to announce that we have successfully secured a new building and are on the home stretch to reaching our final goal!

We are relying on the generosity of our supporters across the country to reach our final goal of raising $200,000, supporting the purchase and renovation costs incurred to convert our new Adoption and Education Centre into a safe and comfortable space for homeless Beagles waiting to be placed in foster care or their forever home.

Getting involved is easy!  

We are asking individuals, companies and community groups to join the Building for Beagles (B4B) campaign by setting up your own individual or team fundraising page to help us reach our final goal.

How to get started? 

1. Join our fundraiser as an individual or start your own fundraising team by clicking the Create a Team or Join as an Individual button above.  

2. Create your fundraising page with your Page Name, Goal Amount and Fundraising Story.  Don’t forget to upload your own featured image that will display on your page!

3. Share your fundraising page with family, friends and colleagues by email or social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn) and ask for their support to help you Build a Better Future for Beagles.

All contributions to the Building for Beagles campaign are tax-creditable.  Receipts are emailed out automatically to any supporters donating through your individual, team or the general B4B campaign donation pages.  VISA, MasterCard, American Express and PayPal accepted.
