Our Mission
The mission of Beacon House Interfaith Society is to work in a caring and compassionate manner to provide food and clothing to those in our community that need our help.
About BEACON HOUSE INTERFAITH SOCIETY
We are a member agency of Feed Nova Scotia. Beacon House Food Bank provides enough food for five days to between 600 and 700 families each month. As well as food, clients are provided with some clothing and household goods in the retail store at no cost to them. Beacon House is also an agency that provides work experience for mentally challenged people. The retail store sells donated goods and the proceeds are used to manage the Society and to operate the Food Bank. This is also a way for people to recycle good used items and know that proceeds will be helping others. We also receive donations of food and funds from our member churches, community groups and the general public. We have many volunteers involved in the retail store and the food bank in a myriad of roles and their contribution is essential!
