In collaboration with St. Clair College we invite you to an inspiring and inclusive event designed to raise both awareness about autism in the community and funds for Autism Services Inc. Bruce Awad Summer Program. This heartwarming initiative is not just a walk; it's a community coming together for a cause that touches many families and individuals directly and indirectly.
The event is carefully planned to provide a safe and enjoyable experience, with interactive activities catering to all age groups, interests and abilities. The goal is to offer families, post-secondary students, and all involved parties with details on autism services available within the community. Additionally, we will gather data to pinpoint any gaps in resources and services. It's a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, show support, and make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by autism.
The Bruce Awad Summer Program is a pillar in the community celebrating 40 years of providing specialized support for children and youth through summer vacation. The continuation of a structured learning environment resembling the regular school year is particularly important to help maintain and improve educational skills as well as life skills. This continuity aids in a smoother transition back to school after the break. . The experience of summer fun is included by regularly visiting community pools, splash pads and parks as well as taking weekly field trips to area recreation facilities such as bowling, gymnastics, mini golf and more. This recreational component also provides the opportunities for improving community integration and community acceptance.
