Fostering the integration of children with autism by training, placing and supporting dogs that offer safety, companionship and independence.
About AUTISM DOG SERVICES INC.
Autism Dog Services’ goal is to provide families with children on the autism spectrum or related developmental disorders with an autism service dog. With the support from an Autism service dog a child achieves greater independence, allowing for more effective and frequent communications and opportunities for socialization in school and community. Our service dogs provide a calming influence and companionship and contribute to a safer environment which enhances independence.
To meet the need for our service dogs we enlist help from volunteer puppy raisers, gifts in-kind and financial donations in order to pair our service dog with children living with autism and their families.
The cost of raising and training a service dog that provides support for a child is $25,000, raised solely by Autism Dog Services through fundraising efforts. We receive no government funding.
ADS is an approved, recognized and accredited member of Assistance Dogs International.
