Principles, based on self-reliance, education and self-motivation, developed by Robert Baden Powell in Great Britain in 1907 formed the foundation for Plast’s youth development program.

Plast nurtures a love of the Ukrainian culture and strives to promote a respect for our Ukrainian roots and heritage. The principal aim of Plast is to educate and raise today’s youth to become conscientious, responsible and valuable citizens of their local, national and international communities.  It challenges its members to grow to their potential and to think independently while recognizing the value of teamwork.

Plast employs proven means of development which are incorporated into activities for all age levels. Meetings and gatherings, hikes and camps form the basis for the organized activities throughout the year. Plast summer camps are the pinnacle of the year’s work and give our youth the opportunity to develop a sense of responsibility, self-discipline and gain an understanding for the need for teamwork.
