Our Mission

Art With A Heart Inc. is a Registered Canadian Charity located in the Durham Region, dedicated to using the talents and resources of like minded, creative individuals to assist and empower people from local community special interest groups (examples: autism, Alzheimer’s, brain injury, behavioural issues, mental health, physically disabled, poverty , substance abuse, seniors, etc.) by ongoing training in and through the use of multiple disciplines of art (visual arts, music, dance, poetry, writing, theatrical) to build life skills and have a point of expression, communication, and place of acceptance.

Art with a Heart Inc. is dedicated to using the arts to assist and empower people in various situations of need through multidisciplinary projects and programs. We strive to recognize the uniqueness of the individual while building relationship, creativity, confidence, and self worth in an inclusive environment. Through various programs we encourage team building and develop synergy allowing participants to explore and express their creative spirit. We aspire to challenge, encourage and equip these individuals to join in and build community.

Art With A Heart Inc. desires to form relationships within existing support networks through places like mental health centres, substance abuse centres, seniors homes etc., adding on to the existing social services presently provided with a new vehicle of expression, and life skill enhancement.
