About the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area
The Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area (ASCCA) is a 4800 acre day use natural area located just south west of the city of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. The area was donated by long-time Alberta resident Sandy Cross and his wife Ann in 1987. At the time it was the largest private land donation in Canadian history.
The ASCCA is dedicated to protecting habitat and providing space for native species of wildlife; offering conservation education programs (particularly to young people) without jeopardizing wildlife and habitat; and managing human use of the area through entry by registration and a set of guidelines.
Conservation Matters
With caring and support from donors like you we are able to continue to protect vital native habitat for the diverse wildlife that call the conservation area home, and to ensure that we can continue to provide valuable education programs, especially for young people. Our important role is to raise awareness of conservation issues to inspire people of all ages to work towards a better, more sustainable future.
