ALS Walk Strong is a chance for people across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and beyond to help people living with ALS and their families. If we are helping your loved one in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, and you live in another province or country, you can have your own walk in the place you live and still support the local organization taking care of your loved one!
Join us at one of four locations, virtually, or a Family & Friends Walk in your community! Family and Friends Walks can take place anywhere in the world, so if there is not one close to you, feel free to host your own!
ALS Walk Strong is the ALS Society of New Brunswick & Nova Scotia’s primary fundraiser, and we use funds raised to help people living with ALS stay in their homes as long as they can and still have a good quality of life. We loan essential medical equipment to help keep people safe, comfortable, mobile, and breathing.
Although we cannot change the outcome of the disease, we can change your experience. We loan roughly $500,000 worth of equipment annually, such as breathing machines (BiPAP $8,000, cough assist $5,000, and suction machine $1,000), hospital bed packages ($3,000), patient lifts ($1,500) and power wheelchairs ($25,000+)
