About the Alberta Craft Council
Since 1980, the ACC has promoted craft in Alberta through exhibitions, publications, marketing ventures, education, awareness projects and information services to its membership and the general public.
The ACC has a dual role: to support contemporary and heritage craft as significant art forms that contribute to Alberta’s culture; and to develop a craft sector of creative, skilled, viable and sustainable craftspeople, studio, businesses and networks.
The ACC operates public galleries and shops in Edmonton, and Calgary dedicated to exhibiting work by emerging, mid-career, and established artists. Annually, the ACC produces over 15 exhibitions in 4 locations, markets the work of approximately 150 members in our two locations, and provides programming and support to over 400 members.
There is also extensive public programming, including Craft Tours, career development consultation and relevant webinars. In addition to community outreach programming, the ACC also endeavours to promote Alberta contemporary craft widely through a variety of channels, including the Alberta Craft Magazine and ongoing advocacy work.
The Alberta Craft Council is the organization of first choice for professional craft artists and aficionados in Alberta.
