Akiing Onji means "from the land" in the Ojibwe language, which is also referred to as Anishinaabemowin. The foundation is firmly grounded in ancestral wisdom and the principles of beautiful Mother Earth.
Our mission is fueled by a shared commitment to promote, preserve, and share Indigenous cultures, languages, and arts throughout Manitoba.
The Foundation seeks to revitalize the memory of Indigenous cultural heritage while supporting the reclamation of identity through reconnection with language, culture, traditions, and the land.
