18th Annual YMCA Cycle for Strong Kids

Register as an individual or rally your team! Experience the thrill of camaraderie, fun, and sweat as you pedal towards a brighter future for our community’s children and youth. Every ounce of your effort directly supports those who need it most.

Welcome the Challenge

Embrace the registration fee per rider and a fundraising goal of $250. While riding a stationary bike for 45 minutes may seem challenging, remember, it pales in comparison to the challenges faced by low-income children and at-risk youth every day. 

Registration Fees (tax receipt provided):     

     - Early Bird Special: $50 registration fee per rider and $25 per Jr. rider (until April 30).

     - After April 30: $60 registration fee per rider and $30 per Jr. rider. 

Raise a minimum of $250 per rider and $125 per Jr. rider through online pledges. All funds raised support local children, youth and families that need it the most.

Registration is required to reserve your spot in the themed 45-minute bike sessions.  Select your ride time, this is your ticket to ride:

• 10:00am – 10:45am
• 11:00am – 11:45am - SOLD OUT
• 12:00pm – 12:45pm
• 1:00pm – 1:45pm

Jr. Kids Bikes

With the addition of four (4) kid-sized stationary bikes, the YMCA is providing local children with a unique opportunity to raise funds and awareness alongside parents, for their less fortunate peers - kids raising money for kids.

The children’s bike sessions will last 20 minutes, and each Jr. Rider is encouraged to raise a minimum of $125.

This opportunity is available for children ages 6-12 years old (who are between 3'3" and 5'6"). Reserve your spot - time slots include:

• 10:00am – 10:20am
• 10:25am – 10:45am
• 11:00am – 11:20am
• 11:25am – 11:45am
• 12:00pm – 12:20pm
• 12:25pm – 12:45pm
• 1:00pm – 1:20pm
• 1:25pm – 1:45pm

Event Day

Join us for Event Day on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Stuart Park downtown Kelowna! Be sure to arrive 15 minutes early to the big tent, where you can check in at registration and strike a pose for our fun group photo. Then, settle in and get ready for an exciting day ahead!

This YMCA community event is perfect for the whole family, so bring along your family, friends, and colleagues to enjoy the festivities with us. We have lots in store for you this year, including the new kids zone featuring a variety of activities, a photo booth to capture memorable moments, and so much more.  Get ready for a day filled with laughter, fun, and unforgettable experiences!

Funds raised go beyond raising heart rates; they directly contribute to providing equal access to essential services such as free or subsidized child care, school enrichment programs, water safety lessons, camps, and crucial mental resources for youth.

Fundraising Tips

• Personalize your fundraising page! This lets your community know why you're taking part in the Cycle for Strong Kids and 100% of the funds raised support thousands of local children, youth and families who need it most. All our programs and services are subsidized or free to those facing barriers.

• Reach out to your closest family and friends with a personalized email that let's them know why you are taking part and why their support matters. Link them to your personalized fundraising page where they can easily make a donation.

• Many organizations offer matching donation programs. Find out if where you work or even your spouse's employer offers an Employee Giving Program to double your donation.

• Spread the word, let your network know you are taking part in Cycle for Strong Kids on your social media channels, include a link to your personal fundraising page. Use hash tags #YCycle4StrongKids

• Always thank your donors in a personalized way! Let them know how much their support means to you.
