- Develop and deliver high-quality programming/activities that celebrate and contribute to the literary culture of the English-speaking community; Introduce participants to the work of outstanding writers;
- Encourage, promote and better equip local writers, both published and non-published;
- Foster literacy (text, oral, visual) amongst participants of all ages and backgrounds, and
- Promote community interaction, break social isolation and build a strong sense of regional cultural identity.
Plans are underway for the 12th Annual Knowlton Literary Festival to be held on October 20-24, 2022. We look forward to returning to our traditional format of hosting the Festival live at the Lac Brome Community Centre. We are doing everything possible to ensure that your Festival experience is enjoyable and safe, and will remain alert to public health guidelines leading up to the event.
The Festival is organized by a small group of active volunteers, allowing us to keep administrative costs minimal. We are thankful for support from the following: Brome Lake Books, Ville de Lac-Brome, the Knowlton Lions Club, Townshippers’ Foundation, the Brome Lake Masonic Lodge, Pacte Rural of the Brome-Missisquoi MRC, Secretariat for Relations with English-speaking Quebecers (ELAN) and private and corporate donors.
The Festival draws participants from across the Eastern Townships, Montreal, Ontario and the United States. We invite you to join us.
Your support is appreciated!
