Our mission is to improve access to Family Doctors in in the British Columbia communities of the South Island on Vancouver Island including Victoria, the Western Communities, and more.
In just one year, we have successfully hired 11 doctors and 1 Nurse Practitioner who are joining our clinics and are attaching patients off the BC Health Registry.
Access to community-based Primary Care is a vital part of a healthy and sustainable community. Your financial support of the South Island Primary Care Society can help us recruit and retain Family Doctors in our community.
The Westshore Primary Care Society is currently raising funds to help open new clinics and transition existing clinics to a not-for-profit service model. The not-for-profit service model supports the administrative burden of Family Practices so healthcare workers can provide their undivided attention to their clinics.
The society has 3 clinics at this time, with a fourth expected this summer of 2025.

Recruitment Costs of New Physicians or Nurse Practitioners attached patients
Retention strategies to support physicians or nurse practitioners already working
Administrative costs to resource our non-for-profit
Quality initiatives to reduce the administrative Burden of our Doctors so they can spend more time with their patients
