Her International works to address the issues of poverty and inequality that exist in the rural Nepal region of Dang concerning the ethnic Tharu people who have been marginalized for nearly 70 years.

To keep costs low, bolster local civil society, and draw on in-country cultural and context expertise, Her International partners with experienced local nonprofits to develop and implement programming. We increase access to primary school education for girls and to microsavings groups with life skills sessions for women, fund a self-development, leadership and mentorship course for adolescent girls called Hero Girls™, and run a social initiative called Unako which employs artisan women and seeks to sustainably fund our programs.
