I've been broadcasting at CKCU for just under a year. My first time on the air was December 2023, and as of July 2024, I began hosting my own show, dubbed Notes from Underground.
The modus operandi: community is vital. I volunteer my time in order to promote the local music in Ottawa, as well as the broader scene within Canada. I want to show my appreciation and give back to the community that means so much to me—and so I dedicate my focus to D.I.Y., independent, niche artists that do not otherwise see much airtime whatsoever.
Off the air, I listen to much of the same music I play on the air. Albeit, plenty of non-Canadian music too. I love anything weird, experimental, boundary-pushing, and independent! Though at the end of the day, I love all forms of music.
