Birdathon is back!

Get ready to make a difference for birds across Canada in the 2024 Birds Canada Birdathon! This national event is not only a fundraiser but a community-driven movement to support vital bird conservation efforts. Whether you're a seasoned birder or new to birding, there's a place for everyone to participate.

Joining the Flock

Participation is easy! Simply choose any day in May for your Birdathon birding day and create your personal fundraising page. Rally your friends and family to support you as you take on the challenge. Need ideas? Check out these suggestions from past participants:

• Introduce newcomers to the joy of birding.
• Settle into a "big sit" at your favorite birding spot.
• Challenge yourself to spot as many species as possible!

How to Take Flight

1. Register: Sign up as an individual, join a team, or start your own team.
2. Fundraise: Reach out to your network for support via email, social media, or word of mouth.
3. Plan: Decide when and how you'll participate.
4. Equip Yourself: Gather your birding essentials, and if you need assistance, Birds Canada is here to help.
5. Set Goals: Challenge yourself to find specific species or raise a target amount – every contribution counts.
6. Go birding. Share your stories and photos with us! Email your stories to birdathon@birdscanada.org or tag us using @Birds.Canada on Instagram, @BirdsCanada on X(Twitter), and Birds Canada on Facebook.
