VETS Canada is registered Canadian charity based in Nova Scotia and serving all of Canada. Our mission is to provide immediate and on-the-ground support to Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP Veterans who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, or in crisis.

We help Veterans by providing financial assistance, rent supplements, and peer support as needed. Veteran support is tailored to meet the unique needs of each Veteran. VETS Canada has a National network of hundreds of volunteers which means we have boots on the ground across Canada, looking for and assisting homeless and in-crisis veterans.

VETS Canada has opened a Veterans Food Pantry in a new building which will also house National Headquarters  - The Garrison. A need was identified as the increase of calls from Veterans requesting digital grocery store cards saw a dramatic increase in Nova Scotia and across Canada. This is a pilot program to determine if required across Canada.The Garrison will also offer healthy living/eating and other wellness programming to support Veterans, as well as events to raise funds to further operations and programming for Veterans and their families. 

In addition to our work of helping veterans who are homeless or otherwise in crisis, we have a program called Guitars for Vets Canada that puts the healing power of music in the hands of heroes. Canadian veterans and still-serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP with service-related injuries or disabilities can get a free guitar, access to online lessons, and - where instructors are available - 10 weeks of in-person guitar lessons.
