St. Luke's Anglican Church Victoria, BC hosts Fantastic Fridays, has a strong music program, and supports local community organizations.
Located on Vancouver Island in the municipality of Saanich, the Parish of St. Luke Cedar Hill is less than fifteen minutes from downtown Victoria, BC. In-person Sunday services are held at 8 am and 10 am. The 10 am service is livestreamed and recorded to watch later.
On the fourth Sunday of the month, a Reflections service is held at 4:30 pm. This service features a variety of musicians along with contemporary prayers, poems, and readings.
On the first Friday of the month, from October through June, St. Luke's holds Fantastic Fridays, where families are invited to come for crafts, stories and songs, and a free meal.
St. Luke's has a strong relationship with Lutheran Church of the Cross across the street. Music is an important component of the services at St. Luke's. Organ, piano, soloists, and instrumentalists all add to the musical experience.
St. Luke's supports outreach in the community through monetary donations and other assistance to groups such as the Shelbourne Community Kitchen as well as international projects through the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund.
St. Luke's started as a mission in 1860 with the present wooden church building consecrated in 1888. St. Luke’s Churchyard is one of Victoria’s earliest church burial grounds and the final resting place of many Cedar Hill, Lake Hill and Gordon Head pioneers as well as others who settled in the area.
