Red Door provides safe, temporary refuge and vital services that enable families to rebuild their lives and establish themselves in their communities.

There's only one RED DOOR

Red Door – Toronto's largest family shelter – supports hundreds of women, children and families annually. On any given day, 60 percent of residents are children.

In recent years, Red Door has provided hundreds-of-thousands of meals to residents. Our food bank supports families who have transitioned from Red Door, reducing barriers to food security and making housing stable and sustainable.

In addition to housing and food security, Red Door provides access to counsellors, important programs and life skills training, and invests in the academic success of children.
