About Fundraiser
Fundraiser by Peace Tree International
Thank you so much to everyone who made it out on a cold and rainy day to our Peace Tree Day 2015 fundraiser! Fortunately, we were able to find an indoor venue at the last minute thanks to the North York Centre! Due to the rain, we realize many people weren't able to make it, so we have created this online fundraising page to show the volunteer children and youth performers and workshop leaders how their incredible talent can help children less fortunate around the world.
The performers were absolutely outstanding with their colours, rhythms and beats from around the world. They lit up the North York Centre and had everyone moving to their beat. Such incredible talent and all by children and youth sharing their passion through peace, diversity and fusion in order to help children around the world at the fundraising event! They were amazing! Wish you all could have been there, but in case you couldn't make it, here are a few glimpses of Peace Tree Day 2015. Special thanks to Ngoma Ensemble and Beyond Sound Empijah, Korean Dance Society of Canada, M-DO Kathak/Toronto, the Ukrainian Academy of Dance and the Arkan Group, the Chinese Collective Arts Association, SHIAMAK Toronto Showkids, Ayame-Kai Group, Rawlinson Community School, 360Peace, the Toronto Peace Tree Ambassadors from Windfields, Denlow and St. Andrews, the Kelsey Peace Club and all the volunteers, parents, teachers and donors.
The children's goal was to raise funds for seven charities this year: The Malala Fund, Because I am a Girl, He for She, War Child Canada, Nepal Earthquake Response (Red Cross and UNICEF), and Free the Children. As they weren't able to raise as much as they had hoped, they will be donating the funds that were raised on Peace Tree Day to The Malala Fund, Because I am a Girl and He for She. As the other charities are registered on this site, we hope that those who would like to support the children's effort can donate directly to Red Cross and UNICEF(Nepal Eathquake Response), War Child Canada or to Free the Children. Please click the charity you would like to donate to and help these unbelievably talented and dedicated children and youth realize their goal to change the lives of children through their passion for music, dance and art by celebrating diversity!
We have shared some pictures of Peace Tree Day 2015 at www.peacetreeinternational.org, so you can get a flavour of what determined and dedicated children and youth can create and how they can 'be the change!' Thank you again for inspiring them and helping them achieve their goal! They greatly appreciate your support!
