About My Sister's Place

My Sister’s Place is a 12-bed emergency shelter, Second Stage transitional housing and Third Stage long term affordable housing for women and their children who are seeking refuge from violence and abuse in their lives.

Our core services include a woman’s program, children’s program, transitional housing and support program and an outreach/legal advocacy program.

All of these programs provide FREE and CONFIDENTIAL support services, crisis intervention, crisis counselling, individual and group support, safety planning, referrals to community resources, advocacy around housing, legal and economic issues.  

We also provide public education presentations to community partners on the issue of violence against women and children and promote awareness within the community at various events and tradeshows.

Additionally, our Women’s Program is available to women and children seeking service on a 24 hour a day basis, 365 days per year.

We service the area of South Simcoe Ontario, however we never turn away a women in need and we will reach out to other organizations to help support women that may not be in our service area.  

My Sister's Place is happy to be a part of a great network of not-for-profits that share the resources and donations we all receive.  If there is something donated to My Sister's Place that we are not able to use at that time, then we will pass it along to another not-for-profit organization to use. In turn, the same organizations share their unused donations with us, creating a circle of support and resources.
