Our Mission
Parkinson Society British Columbia was established as a grassroots organization in 1969 and exists to address the personal and social consequences of Parkinson's disease through education, community outreach, scientific research, advocacy and public awareness.

Parkinson Society British Columbia is a registered charity with a mandate to Ease the Burden and Find a Cure for approximately 11,000 people who live with Parkinson's disease in British Columbia. Your gift helps us fund Parkinson's disease research and to continue to provide support to those individuals and their families who must cope with this debilitating neurological disorder. We do this by providing:
* one-on-one counselling
* educational meetings and conferences with prominent speakers in the medical field
* toll free number: 1 800 668 3330
* lending library with books and dvd's
* quarterly newsletter, Viewpoints
* support to a network of 53 support groups
It is important to note that the Society receives no government funding. 100% of its support comes from the generosity of individual donors and members, corporations, foundations and the dedicated efforts of volunteers.
