Niteo Africa Society exists to advance the culture of reading and literacy equity by providing access to books and capacity-building programming both locally (Kelowna) and globally (East Africa).

We establish sustainable literacy centers by supplying books and literacy resources to support community leaders and educators in their work of strengthening the literacy culture in Uganda. 

We build capacity through training Literacy Leaders – teachers, high school students, community leaders, elders, and parents.

We support literacy learning through open-sourced resources – When We Give Children Books and Leadership in Literacy Micro-credential.

We intentionally build relationships between grassroots leaders and volunteers across the globe. 

We facilitate Family Reading Programs in partnership with the Okanagan Regional Library in Kelowna, British Columbia.
