We believe that a woman and her children have the right to live with dignity and without the threat of abuse. When this right is denied or interfered with, we will provide protection and support.

About Lanark County Interval House & Community Support

Lanark County Interval House & Community Support (LCIHCS) is a shelter and support network for women and their children who have experienced abuse.

At LCIHCS you will find a passionate group of dedicated staff and volunteers who are committed to making lasting change in our community and in the lives of the women and kids we work for. We see the incredible power of hope and know that we CAN make a difference and help end violence and abuse.

We work with women & children across Lanark County, Ontario including the towns of Carleton Place, Smiths Falls, Perth, Almonte and all of the rural areas in between.

Our emergency shelter accommodates 15 women and children at one time. Here we provide a 24-hr help/crisis line, safety planning, counselling for both women and children and advocacy to help women navigate systems on their journey to a successful violent-free life.

Our Community Support programs provide counselling, advocacy and diverse support groups for women and children affected by abuse and sexual violence.

Our Public Education program provides workshops, presentations, and resources to our communities and schools about violence against women, healthy relationships, and gender roles and stereotypes. We do a lot of violence prevention and healthy relationships work with youth.

We support the critically important survivor engagement work that is happening in our region as survivors of abuse take their experiences and use them to create healing and progress in our community.
