Hope Air is Canada’s only national charity providing free travel and accommodations for Canadians in financial need who must access medical care far from home.

Canadians who live in remote and rural areas have higher healthcare needs but less access to care. The Canadian Medical Association has advised that a lack of access to specialists and other medically necessary services leads to delays in treatment and harm to health, including unnecessary pain and permanent disability.

At Hope Air, we believe that all Canadians should have access to the healthcare they need, regardless of where you live or if you can’t afford to travel. Which is why we’re committed to easing the stress of getting there by providing families, from coast to coast, with free flights and accommodations.

Hope Air programs reached 600 communities across Canada, helping patients travel to our best hospitals for diagnosis, treatment and care. Through our dedicated community of donors, partners and volunteers, Hope Air responded to a significant increased demand for help, expanding our services to now include airline, hotel, ground transportation and meals.

By providing full service travel, we are helping save the lives of patients in need by getting them to their vital medical appointments.

Hope Air has fulfilled over 220,000 travel arrangements for people from hundreds of communities across Canada since 1986.
