about

The Campbell River Beacon Club: A Haven of Community and Support

Nestled in the heart of our community, the Campbell River Beacon Club stands as a beacon of hope and camaraderie for adults grappling with mental health challenges. This vital sanctuary, partially supported by Island Health, thrives on the principles of inclusivity and warmth, offering a safe haven where individuals can forge connections and find solace in collective strength.

At the core of the Beacon Club’s mission are the Peer Support Programs, a cornerstone in fostering a supportive network, alongside essential services like Food Bank Deliveries and Psychosocial Rehabilitation Programs. These initiatives are more than just services; they are lifelines that empower our members to navigate the complexities of life with unwavering support.

Each day, the doors of the Beacon Club swing open, not just to a physical space, but to a world of possibilities. Here, members can revel in the simple joy of companionship over a steaming cup of coffee, unleash their creativity through art, or indulge in the playful competition of games. It’s a place where Vocational Training and Life Skills Activities go hand in hand, equipping our members with the tools to thrive both within and beyond our walls.

Education is at the heart of growth, and the Beacon Club is dedicated to nurturing minds with resources and discussions aimed at enhancing knowledge in Nutrition, Healthy Living, Mindfulness, and a spectrum of Recreational and Leisure Activities. It’s a hub where learning meets life, guiding our members on a journey to holistic well-being.

Above all, the Beacon Club is a testament to acceptance and inclusion, a community within a community where every member is embraced with open arms. We are proud to be a part of this vibrant tapestry, operating with respect and gratitude on the unceded traditional territory of the Ligwiłda’xw people, including the We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum, and Kwiakah First Nations.

Join us in this noble cause. The Beacon Club is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 - 2:30, ready to welcome new faces and stories. Together, let’s continue to weave a tapestry of support that holds strong against the tides of adversity.
