HOPEthiopia is committed to providing a bridge of hope for the marginalized of East Africa, particularly the orphaned and widowed of Ethiopia and Rwanda.

About Our Charity

HOPEthiopia is a not for profit organization founded in Calgary, Alberta, Canada supporting the International NGOs Hopethiopia and Hopethiopia/Rwanda. It purposes to empower disenfranchised Ethiopians and Rwandans, particularly children and youth, in a loving and nurturing environment.

HOPEthiopia facilitates community development through augmentation of infrastructure, i.e. improved education and health care, as well as clean water and reforestation. In this manner, HOPEthiopia is committed to providing a holistic approach to attend to physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of its beneficiaries.

Hopethiopia has a passion to serve those that are in the greatest of need in East Africa, especially in Ethiopia and Rwanda. We come alongside to partner with all sectors of society to bring Hope and love to the orphaned population (of all ages), abandoned and widowed women, and those living in the most marginalized situations.

We believe that one of the greatest resources in these nations are the orphaned children. By investing in them, bringing them hope, and encouraging them in all ways possible, it will release all the potential that is within them to come up with solutions for the future.

Hopethiopia works to provide health care resources, water to the communities which is one of the greatest gifts, access to education at all levels, encouraging marginalized and abandoned women with little to no education to receive trades training and to set up business cooperatives, and to set up environments where the desperately poor have a place to live, such as the Hopethiopia Children's Village program.

We work with environmental programs to bring rehabilitation to the communities where great destruction has taken place over the last few generations.

Water DistributionFresh clean water distributed for free to the local community to be used by people that are in desperate need of this precious gift of life. Water is also made available for livestock in dry seasons

1,250+ Cataracts

Eye Care programsVision truly is a gift of life. Hopethiopia has performed over 1,250 cataract surgeries for free. Over 1,600 Trachoma surgeries and thousands of pairs of prescription glasses distributed.

500 + graduates have completed our Tailoring, Embroidery, Leather craft, jewelry, and life skills programs, as well as having many struggling young men reintegrated back into society and business.
