The community social pediatrics model is unique in that it integrates medicine, law, and social sciences. It places the child and his family network at the centre of the process so that they genuinely participate in the decisions and action plan that concern them.

This model of integrated care aims to assess the overall health of the child whose development has been compromised through difficult living conditions. Initially, the child and the significant people around him are invited to share useful information in order to provide a deeper comprehension of the overall family context. Subsequently, the child is set on a trajectory aimed at ensuring his wellbeing and development in respect to all of his or her fundamental rights.
