Our Mission
The Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation's primary goal is to conduct the Canadian Firefighters Annual Memorial Ceremony in Ottawa on the 2nd Sunday of September. A different municipality in Canada serves as the Honourary host each Memorial Weekend. Families of the fallen receive a transportation subsidy and the Foundation funds their accommodation. The Memorial Weekend has become an important part of healing for many families that have suffered the loss of their firefighter.
The Foundation has developed an endowment fund to provide scholarships and bursaries to the children of Canadian firefighters with special emphasis on those who are the children of a firefighter whose line of duty death has been recognized by the Foundation.
The Foundation maintains the list of Canadian firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty and annually engraves the names of those added to the newly completed Canadian Firefighters Memorial in Ottawa. See www.cfff.ca "The Fallen" for a complete list of known line of duty deaths, and the application and approval process that has been approved by the Board of Directors.
See www.cfff.ca for details.
