At Generate Canada we connect problem-solvers - across sectors and whole supply chains – to innovate solutions to really complex problems at the heart of economy, environment, and society. Things like: ramping up climate-smart agriculture, eliminating plastic waste, massively scaling private investment into nature conservation, getting traction on circular economy solutions, reimaging Alberta’s energy system. These are the kind of “wicked problems” that no organization and no single sector can solve independently. So we bring the whole ecosystem together to understand, generate, test, and scale ways of making real progress.

We do this work through our Solution Spaces, which foster deep collaboration among diverse problem-solvers across fields and sectors, in a pre-competitive setting. In partnership with and drawing on the world-leading research and policy expertise of the Smart Prosperity Institute, we develop and pressure-test innovative, scalable, and human-centered solutions to complex environmental and economic challenges.

These Solution Spaces include the Canada Plastics Pact, Canadian Alliance for Net-Zero Agri-food, Energy Futures Lab, Nature Investment Hub, and, Circular Economy Leadership Canada.
