Our Mission
It is our mission to provide re-homing and medical care to displaced companion animals and to support the community in areas of humane education, behaviour counseling, the promotion of responsible pet ownership, and the needs of animals.
About THE ANIMAL GUARDIAN SOCIETY
TAGS reaches out to rescue dogs who have been placed on death row in the over-crowded shelters accross North America. Through coordination with other rescue groups and with the help of dedicated volunteers, these vulnerable dogs are transported into loving foster homes. TAGS foster homes help these injured souls rehabilitate and begin a new life filled with dedication and love.
On a daily basis, we receive desperate pleas to save hundreds of dogs, and the sad reality is that we do not have the funds, foster homes, or space to do so. TAGS relies on foster homes to place these animals as we do not have a shelter. Having a Wellness Centre would give TAGS the ability to save more dogs and to further help the ones already in our program.
TAGS was Durham region's first no-kill animal rescue group. PLEASE HELP US towards our goal to build a Wellness Centre.
