Celebrating our 50th Anniversary in 2026, the Parent Resource Centre (PRC) has continuously expanded to meet the ever-changing needs of Ottawa area families since its inception in 1975. Initially envisioned by both parents and educators, the "Parent Preschool Resource Centre of the National Capital Region Inc." was born out of a pilot project funded by the Ministry of National Health and Welfare (now Health Canada), with the aim of providing support and information to stay-at-home parents. 

Today, we are a vibrant Parenting Resource Hub, welcoming all parents throughout their parenting journey. Our services encompass early and middle years support for children, along with tailored assistance for parents and caregivers with children up to 18 years.  

From aiding in system navigation to fostering skill development and promoting good mental health practices—including adhering to Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health standards—we offer specialized support aimed at enhancing family well-being. Additionally, recognizing the broader community impact, we extend our expertise through targeted training programs designed for professionals and service providers directly engaged with children and families. 

By actively engaging with children, parents, and caregivers, and by facilitating early learning and development, PRC serves as a catalyst for lifelong growth and transformation. Our dedicated staff, equipped with extensive expertise, employ relatable approaches and evidence-based practices to enhance the quality of life for both children and their families.
