Child Poverty

People affected by poverty lack the financial or other resources necessary to meet their basic needs. For a child, hunger impairs concentration, negatively affects attendance, and undermines academic performance. Additionally, wearing inappropriate clothing can harm their self-confidence, hinder social integration, and strain relationships with peers. As a result, many children face greater obstacles to success.

The Fondation des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est is committed to supporting these children through its programs.

Since its inception in 2011, the Fondation has provided over $690,000 to ensure that children and teenagers have access to clothing, food, and eyeglasses.

Furthermore, the Fondation has enabled children to participate in cultural activities, sports programs, summer camps, and enrichment camps that they would otherwise not have access to.

It has also supported several students in applying for college or university studies.

In total, nearly 3,000 children have benefited from the Fondation’s programs, making a tangible difference in their lives and futures.
